Default How many sKrr owners switched from CBR1k?

i am planning on doing so next year, and was wondering how similarly or differently they handled...what setup you got...and anything else afterward you may have done.

I've had two cbr1k's and this bike is head and shoulders a better bike. The handling and feel of the road is typical BMW. The cbr has a tendency to feel a little tinny rollin thru the gears, not the BMW. The power that the S1K has can't even be compared. The cbr is powerful, you know that, now imagine giving it balls...that's what I'm talkin about. Riding the cbr I was always conscious about not leaning too far into a corner. The BMW, YOU CAN'T PUT IT DOWN. Ok, it is possible but you have to try pretty hard. The ABS will save you more than once and the traction control is good enough to make u feel invincible. The wheelie control will piss you off but when u show off it's power, it will keep ur nose on the ground and shoot you forward like soviet missile in the middle of the cold war.

The biggest difference is this:

The CBR: You have to think riding the bike

THE S1K: You don't have to think, the bike does it for you. Now GO RIDE!

Btw, as far as setup goes, you will see, you don't have to do anything. Maybe stiffen the ring spring one or two but even that isn't necessary. A slip on and ur done. This bike is about accessorizing.

Moved up from a CBR929 and a 600RR. Never rode any of the CBR1000's before and I still have the 600RR.

The BMW is an amazing machine, you will not be disapointed with this jump. Plus, after 18 years of street riding it was time to move up to a more refined machine like the S1000RR.

Also, I was able to get the traction control/ABS package for free in the deal.

Went from an '08 CBR1000RR to the S1. Night and day in too many aspects.

Had two CBR1Ks before the BMW. Nice bikes, but lacking a bit of "personality," not necessarily in a bad way--they're very competent sport bikes with few real faults and plain Jane behavior.

With the snarling engine, quirky bodywork, great brakes, and electronics package, the BMW is more fun IMO. It makes me pay more attention to it.
