Talking Hello fellow owners of worlds most awesome bike

Hi all, I've had by RR for a little over 12 months now and still love it. Had a number of track days, usually head for the twisties at least once a week or spend a few days riding around the Snowy Mnts. Have just had a 30,000klm service (I believe its done the most klms in Australia according to BMW Australia). The only thing needed at the service was spark plugs and of course oil, etc, but valves and all mechanicals were perfect. It still has original drive chain and sprockets, chain gets lubed every 800-1000klms. It does chew up the tyres though, I get about 4500k's out of a set of pilot pures and around 2500 out of a set of Racetec K3's. What else can I say about this bike.... well... it really is an awesome machine but I'm sure you all know that.

Hi FrankK, you're 29k up on mine. What do you use to oil the chain with ?

Also there is a thread on here for "The Snowy Ride' that some of us are attending if you're keen to all catch up. I'm looking to put in some serious k's having come off an K12RS and RT.

Wow. Only 4500k's. I was hoping for 10k... was I just being delusional or are you really riding your tires hard? - Todd

Yes, I am a little cruel with tyres, I do like to see the TC light flashing

Hi kahapa, I'm using Motorex Chain Lube, its a spray-on and its white so is easy to see where you've sprayed. Its easiest to put on after a ride when chain still warm but as is with all spray-on lubes, you need to protect parts you don't want lubed with newspaper, such as tyre, rim, body, etc. I use a paddock stand to support the bike so I can just sit there and rotate the wheel. Cheers

I agree this bike is fantastic. I use mine to commute and even when the traffic is bad its still the best part of my day.
