Default Might buy a bike

I test rode an S1000RR, and now I want to get one. Figured I'd check out what others had to say about it first. I found this forum with a google search on GP shifters for the bike.

I've been riding for about 10 years, doing trackdays for 7, and racing for 5. My commuter bike is a GSXR 1000, and the race bike is a GSXR 750.

I am in sunny California with lots of great weather and lovely twisty roads.

Nice to meet y'all!

As long as the Spam doesn't start flowing, anyone is welcome IMO!

Trogdor, since this is an S1000RR forum, you'll likely get plenty of opinions in support of the S1. My recommendation is to do some searching on this forum to check out the vast amount of information folks have shared (some bad, plenty good btw). Plenty of great information on the bike and what folks have done or had trouble doing... including getting the bike to a GP shift configuration. A lot of helpful folks on the forum too, so if you have questions, ask away. I've had my S1 on the track a couple times but it pretty much stays on the street - absolutely love the bike! I have a couple R6's for race bikes... love them too (for the track).

Good luck and welcome aboard!

+1 I was on the fence with a ZX-10 and S1000. After the test ride of the S1000...I brought my check book back to the dealer. I have no regrets thus far.

My next door neighbor purchased a new ZX-10, (he only lived next door for one day, as he just moved in and didn't know I was an avid rider, but was proud to show me his new toy. When I found out (days later), his face drew a blank as he muttered, I really wanted a BMW.....

True story,

Triple
