New in San Diego, CA
Hey, whats up. Joel here. Current ride is an '09 K1300s, thinking about a switch to an S1krr, would love any feedback, or rides with local peeps. I'm old (43), but just getting into sportbikes, after Harley's, Ducatis, and now BMW's, I'm having a blast at Palomar, Julian, Winola, etc.
Let me know if you want to ride or have any feedback about moving from a K1300s to an S1kRR.
Thanks,
Joel

I should be returning to san Diego in Sept but I'm at the mercy of the government. Before I purchased the s1rr I was riding at k1200gt and a GS 1200r. I love the handling and power but longer rides >200 miles began to get a little uncomfy. Although I am considering taking it for an edelweiss tour in death valley in October.

Thanks guys, finally got on one for a few quick miles yesterday, all I could say was "Nasty". thats one helluva angry motor, there were no twisties nearby, and the cool people at SD BMW asked I not put more thana few miles on it, so I still haven't felt the handling, but the power was amazing. Made my K1300s feel lumbering and heavy. . . (but still smoother and more comfy).
I'm holding out for a longer demo ride before I make the jump, but from what I felt yesterday, I'm both impressed, and scared :-)

The Escondido dealer had a demo bike that they were allowing people to take out for a lot more than a few miles. They may still be doing it.
