Default Hi from NorCal

I've been riding BMWs for 20 years and am looking to replace my R1200S with it's newest sibling...the S1000.
It is encouraging to see how this model and the revolutionary engineering advancements have created this explosion of interest and demand in BMW.

What makes you want to replace the R1200S?

Welcome, what city are you from? I'm just south east of Modesto, let me know if you are up for a ride. I saw your post about Cycle Specialties and my track day. There is also a Bike Night coming up June 17th at Modesto Honda Kawasaki just across the street from Cycle Specialties.

Welcome! Have you been enjoying our "Juneuary" WX? Where I live we have had a total of 51+ inches of rain so far! Not too much fun for riding.

MikeLogan, I picked up my s1000rr on June 4th (Just last weekend!) and have been super excited ever since. I got her in the BMW Motorsports color, although i'm partial to anything painted in black (thunder grey is included) I figured I go for a "flagship" color because I liked the way the white looked with the BMW ///m type badging. I'm really enjoying this bike, although its true potential has yet to be discovered, or even GLANCED. I can't wait till break in is over!!

Does anyone here in Norcal run with Keigwins or pacific track time? Once I break her in I had some questions about running modes (most likely "race"?), as well as what tires are used, I guess I could check the other forum but I figured asking in person would be easier I currently take a 04 beat up gxsr 600 to the local track days, but eventually I'll take the s1000rr JUST a couple times a year

Keigwins is great! They have a Track Day School (it's a 2 day weekend) which I would highly recommend. Thunderhill is a wonderful track if you can make it there (Willows California).

K3, Q2's and Power Ones are all excellent street/track day tires.

Let me know, if you have any more questions,

TT
