Default hello from pahrump nv

im thinking of getting a bmw 1000rr. i have a 04 r1 and a 07 gsxr 600. 42 years old, live in a small town 60 miles west of las vegas. ive been riding most of my life, started on a z-50 and a xr 75, i have a crf450r and i still have my 78 mx 175 yamaha. ive had a 93 cbr 900, rc-51, cbr 954, and by far my favorite bike has been my r1. my son wants my r1, but then ill need a new bike, . ive ridden the bmw 1000rr. it was cool. very sophisticated compared to my r1. some things have to happen before i can get one. i have a 95 vette lt1. i need to sell. im into smoking meat, and bbq'ing. i have a traeger and a uds. needless to say i like to cook as much as i like to ride. anyway hopefully ill get some good info if this is the bike for me. hans

Welcome.

I've been to Pahrump. It's sort of an odd town, no offense. Home of the infamous Art Bell and the alien oddity stuff about Area 51 to the east. Went by his "antenna farm" to the south of the Terrible Herbst Casino (?) and that was a sight too. Seems a lot of even "Uber rich celebrities" visit the businesses way south of there too.

Some waitress there was telling me some old woman that was "Shooting up the walls in her house" and the sheriff was like "It's okay with him, unless she's shooting at someone. It's her house and she can shoot it up all she wants. We'll get involved when the wall studs give way and the roof collapses on her."

Not far from Death Valley which is interesting to visit - but in the WINTER only! I wanted to go to the Yamaha dealer there too, but got sidetracked.

I recall some odd all boy's college (I Googled it afterwards as it seemed very odd, but seems they got a good scholastic rating) going out of there into Death Valley too. Seemed sort of odd for a college to be out in the desert to the west of there - and I mean way out there too - like Nowheresville.

Enjoy the S. Dunno where out there, but enjoy it nonetheless. You can go 'high-speed straight' for a very long time out there.

Very much enjoyed the track in Pahrump when I used to live in Salt Lake City. Welcome. I just sold my '04 R1 to a buddy last week and am in the market for an s1000rr also. Great track bike.

welcome to the site. I think you'll be very happy with the s1000rr if you purchase one. You know this since you've test ridden one and theres a coupe of local tracks near you to wring out the cob webbs if ya should feel the need.

I've ran through Pahrump once, during Baker to Vegas relay race, I almost veered off course to check out this nice Club shaped like a Castle......they advertised Jacuzzi services? HOW awesome is that

Your love for bbq sounds amazing, I was getting hungry just reading your post. ahhhh!!!

Cheers
