Default New owner from Cali. What's up

Hey everyone. Just purchased a new 2011 s1000 last Friday and am very pleased with it. Getting back on the horse after 1 year of down time due to an accident; which, I might add, wasn't my fault. After i recieved the settlement from my lawyer i was on my way to BMW to pick her up. Got the akra exhaust and evolutione fender eliminator kit. Going to purchase sato rearsets and a tinted windscreen to finish off the mods.

Just a couple questions. How does everyone like they're bike? I hear about some gearbox issues and noticed shifting isn't as smooth as my CBR. And referring to adjustable rearsets, which brands besides sato are worth buying. Thanks!

The shifting gets better and better as you get some miles on it. I have 8,300 miles on mine now and it shifts like butter....

Welcome. I've gotten a few things from Rider's Discount. I think they sell Attack rear sets. One of the benefits is that I believe you can go standard and GP mode on the same rear set.

Welcome!!! I absolutely love my bike in every way!

I agree with sbs in that the gearbox and shifting gets smoother. Mine had a couple hiccups at just under 300 miles(thinking back, it was probably my own fault as I didn't time my shifting actions correctly-something that I feel is crucial on this bike). Now with only 700 miles on it's already MUCH better! Best thing you can do is ride it through moderate traffic situations where your constantly going through the gearbox at various rpm ranges.

Enjoy! And ride safe!
