Default s1000 .. A keeper..

When young and first Married i was so poor I waited for someone to break in my house so I could mug them lol. My bikes had TONS of miles and where patched together having no money for parts ( I had a 1975 CB550 with..9.. patches on front tire tube lol) 20 yrs later and ive done well financially so I wanted a GOOD stable of bikes in my garage . Bought /sold 27 bikes in 1 1/2 yrs to have the best on the market .
I NARROWED IT DOWN TO 10 ON THE BEST AND THE S1000 IS DEFINATLY A ..KEEPER ...Actually my son owns the s1000, but we share them all. My second passion is unique performance builds and we also own a motorcycle race team . We have tested just about every major brand of suspension and brake system,So my son and I are like Cycle World without the B/S sales pitch lol.

I am pleasantly suprised to see that the members here are smart enough to know that Ohlins and Brembo are not the only quality components on the market .(dont get me wrong both are excellent products ) So feel free to ask about any aftermarket products we probably have tried them out already or know someone who has . take care jake

Thanks for the welcome Nismo. As for the Bitubo question ... Yes I am using a Racing unit= Bitubo XXF31 a RC51( One of my favorites BTW) My abilities arntas a rider arnt good enough to judge 9/10ths track riding but my team rider says its better than the Ohlins unit that it replaced. he stated , same durability to fade but works a little better on midcorner bumps and is a litttle quicker getting grip transitioning.Nismo as far as performance, the Mupo AB1 EVO is the best choise so far. Every rider who has tried the Mupo units has raved about them . And the cost is the same as the Bitubo and LOWER than the Ohlins . BTW as i said before , im not BASHING the Ohlins , they still make great products, its just that there are new contenders out now.
Nismo also look at the NITRON same performance/quality as Ohlins but 2/3 the cost.

ALSO if your looking to upgrade forks AND rear shock . Mupo has a full kit consisting of both the AB1 EVO fork Cartridges AND the the AB1 EVO rear shock for only 2800$( the case is even cool lol. The Mupo AB1 fork Cartriges made the crappy/ goofy hcrf?? Showa forks almost as good as the10,000$ Ohlins FGR000 Superbike forks we have on the Superbike racer. And thats saying something ,,, the FGR0-000 ohlins units are phenominal!

NEXT we are trying the new Pensky 8970 which supposedly is a TOTALLY different design than all other rear suspension set ups on the market.

LASTLY I just bought my son who is 6 ft8 and 290lbs a Triumph 1700cc Thunderbird /Storm . For this particular application we are goping to try the new?? high performance rear air suspension units. I dont think it will surpass any of the tradtional racing units but might make for the best compromise under the situation. Yes he also has a BMW s1000RR . I am 6ft4 and 240/250 with gear 260/270. He is 310/320 with full gear so bottoming out the suspension is a problem we havnt figured out yet .
...before anyone asks...no... neither one of us is fat. So a diet wont fix the problem lol
.
