Default S1k owner soon!

Hi folks, just signed up last night. Great forum here. Lots of useful info and insights on this fantastic bike. Just sold my '08 1098S and wanted something diff., or so I thought ('10 R1200GS). As many here might have done at any given time, I was at the dealership having the bike serviced and they suggested I demo the S1000 to "kill time". It was a week day and not busy at all so the sales guy said to take my time and have fun. Boy did I take his word for it.
What a beast. Nothing at all like my 1098S. Acceleration was out of this world.
I found the S more comfy than my Duc and even a bit lower in the seat height.
I also had a '06 CBR 1000RR and had to modify that for better ergos but this bike is perfect out of the box as far as fit. Loved the Duc's grunt and its musical twin's power. I took that bike everywhere from NYC traffic to Maine and down to TN/NC SC with two 700 mile days. Only my seat was modified. No risers or anything ergonomic. I feel this S 1000 will be even better at my riding style which is lots of day and weekend trips. Lots of accessories already out there as well. I rode a '10 demo with the Akra slip on. Ordered the '11 yellow.
Can't wait.
Pics below of my GS and ex (1098S).

Oops, wrong 3rd pic. thats not a Duc!
Second one is when I did a week's trip. Used a Ventura pack rack system. I know its not a touring bike but its the only one I had. Not bad.. Try touring on the S. Should be fun!

Welcome aboard.

I see many ex Ducatisti jumping to the SKRR.
I'm still on the fence about getting rid of my 999.

Btw, almost same "injection" as you.
Went with a friend who wanted to test ride a BMW K bike.
Of course at the time, the local dealership had the BMW Promotion Tent.
I thought, why not, let me try the bike out, im perfectly happy with my Duc.
Took the bike for a spin, came home, and searched for a S1000RR forum.

Been feeding my eyes and mind ever since.

Resistance is Futile....

Motif,

I hear ya. Already have 2 bikes now.
Having 3 is a bit too much as I only ride like 5-6 months out of the year.

Thanks all for the warm welcome. I can take the bike home tomorrow if I wanted but its pouring here in the NYC/NJ area since Sunday and more to come!
New tires + rain not a good combo.
