Hi im obviously new here I am a current R1 owner of 07 vintage but it is time for a new bike. I have admired the beamer from afar for quite some time and now am seriously considering making the purchase. I cant leave anything stock so an exhaust and rearsets would go on before even riding it but my major question to you guys is how sturdy is this power plant i know it makes the hp but how much abuse can it take? My yamaha has 32k very molested miles. I mean really beat the **** out of it EVERY time I get on it. Do you guys have any problems tech issues with this motor/tranny/frame/suspension of the beamer? Any motor failures due to engineering and not some idiot putting in the wrong grade of fuel.
Welcome. I have only good things to say about my s1000 but I know a few of the other guys have had problems with gear box and motors. Do a search I'm sure you will find it.
