Howdy folks,

Just purchased my 2012, Red/White with TC and QS and Post Recall Bike.

Coming from 2 x R1 (Big Bang) and CBR, I must say, I absolutely love this bike and looking forward to many thousand kilometers and plenty track days.

One gripe I have with the bike is the up-shifting on the QS and false neutrals. Generally the gearbox is not a 'solid' as my otherbikes. So its either me or I am not shifting correctly. In any case, I have ordered the FactoryPro's upgrade spring to see if that fixes the issue.

Welcome mate and congratulations on the new bike. I too have a few issues with mishifts and false neutrals. Apart from that and a little heat issues under the legs on hot days, it is hard to fault this bike. Where in Aus are you from?

Sydney mate. Yeah, totally wrapped! Done two track days so far and its bad a*ss on steroids.

If you thought this is hot, don't sit on the Big Bang R1 in a hot summer day!

Hopefully the stiffer spring with fix the issue.

haha yeah I have ridden an r1 on a summers evening and yes god damn those under tail exhausts suck ass. so much heat.

I'm in Wollongong and I'm out on my bike every weekend so let me know if you wanna meet up for a ride. Id like to hear some feedback on the new shift spring

yeah mate that was me, that was by far the best ride I have done on the road, such an epic day, must of averaged 160 that day, destroyed my front tyre. The last run from khankoban back to jindabyne was crazy, 1.5 hours of non stop twisties

Well anyway... great having such a diverse crowd of people all interesting keenly in one thing..... Damn good bikes from BMW.

For sure... Love the old Robertson run up and then down Kiama/Jamberoo.

We also do North each weekend, so will PM you when we heading south.

Yeah, agreed. I was on this forum long before I decided to purchase the S1000, so I did my homework here and so glad I did
