Hey Gents...I have a red 2012 S 1000 RR on order (arrives next week). Needless to say I am psyched. But having been away from scooters for a long long time, and having owned a few go fast ones back in the day (Ported, chambered with 34MM mikunis H2-750, and a 900 nija and a yamaha FJ1100 with yoshimura exhaust, cams and racing carbs, I also raced motocross as a kid and had an AMA experts license for 250cc motocross...I even took some practice laps on the big track at daytona on a friends TZ-250 in the mid 70's), I also have enough smarts to know at my age (55) I need to keep my wits about me or a modern superbike will get you in places you don't want to be...I remember those power wheelies at 110 mph on the H2 when I was 18 and at my peak for riding skill and that bike probably had 120 hp tops, and I know how my brain works so I am somewhat anxious to be getting back on a fast scooter...but very excited.
