Default New on board from Johns Creek, Ga.

Bought a track only S1000rr race bike from another racer to race and use for track days. I've raced sprints and endurance with WERA for over 10 years. I also have an R6 racebike. I am a track only guy. I also help Ed with the Ed Bargy Race School. I'm an old guy on the back end of my racing "career".

I've already learned some stuff about this bike from this board so thanks in advance!

Thanks guys.

Nikk777, Todd Clark said I met ya at Tally last year but I don't remember. I've seen ya post on GSB. Thanks for the offer.

I'm heading to Jennings this weekend for the school and to ride with Todd and a bunch of others. Getting my forks back from Fitz today....

hmmm? I was either on my zx10 or zx6 then for tally? did a race and a trackday there this year on the 10 and a couple races there on the 6 last year?

Let me know how the bike likes jennings. Shouldn't be too many issues as it's a flat track. As you come up to speed on the bike, you'll have to make geometry changes though to make it act right and not try and kill you on the track... Have fun and note....rubber side goes down. . Jennings is actually one of few tracks that I haven't wrecked on... (knocking on wood).

Note, you'll pick up a lot of time if you roll through the esses (T4/T5?) without braking too much or downshifting. Delay the downshift/braking till T6 it is I think? Only been there once and that was 2 years ago.

Yeah, I've made that note before and still forgot to keep the rubber side down....

I'm taking it to Jennings to sort a setup for the new Ohlins kit and get a feel for the ole girl. I've been there a bunch, it's flat, and I'm comfortable there. I've done like 4 endurance races, and tons of sprints, trackdays, and schools there over the years on SV's, GSXR600/750's,and my R6. Even for the school on a stock FZ1. Mirrors kept freaking me out.... Never rode a 1k on it though.

I rode it at Tally with stock suspension and it was ok except the fork leaked really bad and I had to take it easy in the corners. It was a problem induced by the mechanic of the previous owner..

I'll let ya know how it goes.
