I tried to get there but had to turn back. Traffic was the pits on the I- 405 with the rain and wrecks. It was moving at a break-neck 2-4 MPH at times with 7 lanes running, and I never experienced musical horns under the bridges where we sat parked waiting for traffic to move. People would start a tune and someone else would finish it. Sheer boredom. Convention Center would have been closed by the time we got there so we gave it up. Amazing that something only 30 miles away takes half a day to get to.

Even suffered a busted mirror when a semi flipped a wet 2x4 up and it came at us like a baseball bat and knocked the entire mirror assembly off the car. Part was $320 and no deductible.

I don't know why they moved it a week closer to Xmas rush than previous years where it was the first Sat. in December. They also opened later where they used to open at 1PM instead of 4PM on Friday which is "mad-house rush hour" (In reality, it is anything but a rush around LAX on the I-405). My brother used to spend 6 hours a day in that mess commuting to work and back.

Oh well. Maybe next year. Weather looks to be the pits this year with all the rain forecast so I would expect turnout to suffer a bit as there will be no demo rides either. Just wanted to see the new K1600GTL in person. Maybe go raz the Kawasaki boys too about the new ZX-10 mess too. Guess that will have to wait.
