Suspension? Yes, I'm happy.
The front forks are awesome. They float over the bumps pretty good now, though the temperature and road conditions aren't favorable for pressing it very hard.
The rear shock is harder to evaluate. There are some conditions it works better, but it is still choppy over some surfaces. I think I may either leave it as-is until I see Brian again in the spring or try adjusting the settings and find a happier medium. Probably not ride it as much as last winter until things warm up.
I've got HIDs, the PC5 and Autotune, and the Taylormade exhaust to install. That should keep me busy. Plus, I need to get my bike to RW for a scheduled service sometime this winter (was due in October). Thinking of buying some rearsets. Driven brand look cool for adjustability, replacement parts (important) and price.
See ya buddy.

I did not attend. I had just gotten back from being in TX for over a week and needed to spend time with my family. And no, the bike is still at RW. They have replaced the QS solenoid, the cooling fan (seized), and a front speed sensor harness connector that they have had problems w/ in the past. They are now replacing the front speed sensor itself since replacing the connector has not fixed the ABS/DTC warning light problem. They called me today and was asking questions about what might have caused it...I think they are a bit mystified. Anyway, should have her back in about a week....so far, all covered under warranty. They have had it since the 1st...I'll bet they want that thing outta there!
How's yer suspension? Get a chance to feel her out yet? Happy???

Hey me again.
Have you gotten your S1K back from RW yet?
What was the overheating issue caused by, did they have to replace your QS, and what was the damage warranty/dollar wise (if you don't mind)?
I was just kidding about giving Mac your bike, but boy that was a popular thread you started about driving lessons, ha, ha. Man they grow up fast.

Did you go to Jason's memorial service last Sunday? Weather looks like it held out, but that was just too far for me to risk it, and just didn't trust riding with an unknown quantity of riders - many of them touting they wanted to act as parade blockers. That's a formula for yet another tragedy.

Yeah man, I met Jason several times, but never rode w/ him. He was a good guy...well respected in the community. He was so friggin' young...from the details, it sounds like he was in a blind spot entering the intersection where the car turned in front of him. Hard to say though. Sad loss....

Hey Wayne,
Did you know Jason Jones of South Sound BMW? He passed away in a car/MC accident last Friday night.
I think he was Snocompton here of this Forum, and was responsible for organizing South Sound events as well as Redline racing activities.
Real loss for us Beemer guys and riders in general.
Brian
