Nononono Danger Will Robinson. Refer to the owners manual, JASO MA2 rated oil is needed for this engine to keep the warranty valid. There is some kind of Castrol that meets this, but my dealer uses Motul 300V and the bike seems to like it.

That's the issue... most (not all) automotive oils (synthetic or dyno oil) don't have the JASO ratings for wet clutch use.

The book calls for Castrol full syn , here we get the Castrol RS-R4 FULL SYN .....
My friend races midget cars with the FZ yammie motor and for 4 sessions he never had a cluth issiue and he uses the mobil gold top .. it is as close to bike oil maybe the same , there is a huge thread on hondas fourm about guys using it and its way better then rottela .

Many use car oil without a problem just be careful with "Energy Conserving" oils with additives like "Molly" or similar friction modifiers which my not be compatible with a wet clutch. I know a lot of people that use the normal 15-50 Mobil 1 (not the Long life) in their bikes without a problem.
