Default Replacement Sprocket & Chain Questions

Hi all,

I've read a number of threads here where the major discussion was either chain conversions (from 530 to 520) or changes in sprocket sizes to improve performance - either top end or acceleration.

I'm a 90% street rider and don't think I need or want to do a chain conversion. My only competition is myself, and am interested in replacing the chain and sprockets when they are worn out. I'm mainly looking for long life.

What brand chain and sprockets should I be looking at for this bike? What brands of sprockets are available. I know I don't want all aluminum, but are there brands with steel teeth and alloy carriers worth it for my needs?

Thanks in advance.

FWIW, your bike (stock) has a 525 (not 530). For a chain, you can't go wrong with a DiD ERV3 X Ring chain. For sprockets, there's AFAM, Vortex, Renthal, Driven among a few others... All are good.

Thanks for the heads up Don. I think that's what I needed. I couldn't remember (here at work) what our original chain size was. I'll go search these vendors and see what I can find for products that fit our bikes.
