Default Chain Lube

I lube my chain every 800-1000klms (as per the manual). I have now done 30,000klms on original chain and sprockets. The sprockets show no sign of wear and chain rarely needs adjustment regardless of how cruel I am to the bike. The moral of this story is.... keep your chain lubed.

What product do you use to keep the chain working so well?

Also, in addition to lubrication, how often do you actually clean your chain on the bike?

Thanks.

I have only cleaned the chain a few times, usually after I've trekked along some dirt. The lube is MOTOREX. It also comes with a small container for travelling which can be charged from the larger aerosol can, very handy. Oh, and its a much easier process if you use a paddock stand.

I use the Dupont multi-use, like the cleaner look. About 5 bucks a can at Lowes!

DuPont Teflon Chain Saver - DuPont Teflon Chain Lube - webBikeWorld

I haven't seen that brand here. but unlikely I'll change if I'm getting excellent results from what I'm using.
Cheers

I don't suppose you have a pattern for that board or could you possibly post a photo of it? I currently stuff newspaper behind the chain to avoid spraying crud on the swingarm/exhaust.

I always clean the chain before lubing. Paraffin in a spray bottle for cleaning and then Wurth Profi-dry lube when it's dry. We can't get the DuPont stuff over here but it sounds like the Wirth stuff does the same job; goes on wet and dries invisible. Zero fling!
