According to Purolator, the PureOne filters are not to be used on motorcycles. Read the last paragraph on this page:

I sent an email to Purolator asking to fully explain that. Also what the construction differences are between the two types of filters.Hopefully in the next day or so I'll have an answer I can post. There are many people that are usung these on their bikes with no known effects.Kinda like running car oil in your bike...

Since when is a motorcycle not a "vehicle?"

It's likely Purolator is concerned bike oil pumps don't have the gumption to push oil through the very fine media used in the PureOne. I seriously doubt that's a problem on a modern literbike. I, for one, use the PureOne filter whenever it's available for the "vehicle" I'm servicing.

I agree, I used it on every bike that I own. BTW would you happen to know the part number for our S1000rr?

I don't recall where these are from but this is what I have. Let us know which one you use.
Purolator oil filter ML16825 / PL10241 / PL25230

Correct. That's the one I use. The PL25230 is the long can. I don't know if that one would fit, but it probably has more filtering medium than the PL10241.
