That sounds quite high...I remember paying $220 for my first service, which included activation of my drop sensor (this was before the recall).

1st service cost was $160.00, I'm in South Florida.
I guess it depends on just how hungry for money your dealership is....
Do you have another Dealership nearby?

If you search, you'll find first service prices ranged for FREE (depends on how you negotiated the sale) up to $600 depending on how hungry your dealer is. Mine was $110, fwiw.

Everything is negotiable, although I'd buy a GS-911 and learn to do some of the stuff yourself and reset the Service intervals in the computer every time you service it yourself. Only problems on you might have at the first service is getting the odd-designed castellated nut to tighten up the front fork bearings. You could make one yourself with a file and grinder if you search this site, but the socket isn't cheap either if you make your own vs. buying the $100 BMW one.

Or just buy a Ducati and get their bill and then wonder why your BMW was $700 cheaper.

Yes, it does sounds lots of money...but compare to what?
These guys have rent to pay, plus they have to be BMW certified techs. so you know you bike is in better hands..

paid 200 or 220 what they do at 1st service is oil, re torque front fork bearing bolts, check fluids, ( not that well. I came home and re-bleed my brake because they where mush and i had more air in the lines then fluid) and hook it up to the computer and remove limiter and check for codes, adjusted both clutch and throttle cables. with them taking there time it was 30min. I always have the first service done at the dealer just so they cant say anything if i need warranty work like, I i removed the limiter before 600 miles
