Default Oil

hey guys
for everyone on the forum i been reading about the failures one these motorcycles and im awaiting mine in about 3 weeks he said. got a new 2011,
my question here is what kind of oil do you guys use in the bikes?
my old forum has hundreds of threads on oil/type/brand etc.

i only had one other bike in my life and that was a r1 2006
i bought her at about 6k miles and since then have tried many different oils, including royal purple/ ams oil / rotella ( lol yes the diesel oil ) and reading on bob the oil guy and personal exp, ams oil is a very good product with a lower wear rate a bit over priced, and i have used rotella for a about 6 months ( due to great property's comparable to ams oil for only 20$)
i put about 32,000 miles on my r1, i plan on riding this bike just as hard.

So my question is, what kind of oil where you using when you had these failures and maybe a high grade oil can help mitigate these damages
i would imagine some people here may have no idea what bmw puts in your bike, and thats ok maybe this thread will lead you to finding out and know that much more about your bike making you a better rider all around!

cheers

Only a very small % of folks (at least here) have had any engine issues. One of the MAIN culprits seems to be the oil fill glass gasket leaking, and that was only a few folks.

So far, for being first run 2010, it seems to be fairly solid and stable on it's own using what the oil the manual says. M2 in the newer one and M1 or M2 in the older manual.

i tend to never use the oil the manual recommends because it always a minimum rated oil like semi synth like yamalube, oil is the life blood of and engine lol also at the rate the engine revs near 13.5 looking for a good high shear point low foaming oil is key to keeping your engine lubed while ripping her around you know?
