Default Autocom power tap

Anyone got experience of installing an Autocom Super Pro Avi system (or similar) into the S1000RR?

Just looking for the best spot for a switched 12V live feed. Am somewhat apprehensive in splicing wires with the dodgy Canbus system likely to throw an error at me.

Curious as to where you are installing the unit. It's pretty big with its sundry cables.

Mine is in my BMW tank bag. I made it two-stories tall out of thin plywood and some standoffs. I can take it off the bike quick and it's powered via a cable that plugs into a hot-wired Powerlet socket on that black downward facing panel on the left upper fairing (beneath the left grip area). The hot-wired to the battery Powerlet allows for a Battery Tender also to be plugged into it when the BMW tank bag (with the Autocom and Escort Redline detector in it) is unplugged.

Accessory leads (low current) can be taken off parking lamp leads and I think there is some accessory plug along the right frame someplace that takes a BMW GPS lead or something?

Should be able to cram it into the tailpiece on the throttle side. Seems big enough for the unit plus radio.

I ran my 12v feed from the license plate light in the back (green wire). Used it for my AutoTuner and Radar Detector. Doesn't muck w/the Can-bus.
