Default R&G spools...Anyone have this issue?

I installed a set of R&G fork protectors, fairing TOGs, and rear spools.
I find that I cannot use my Pit bull rear stand even with the fork ears set as far apart as they can go.. It looks like I need an additional 10-15 cm to center the fingers in the grooves. I cannot install these spools without their included 5 cm thick spacers (necessary to mount them flush on the control arms). Anyone experience this?

Default Pit Bull Stand Solution Quoted From Pirates Liar Web Site

"Cotton Reels With Pit Bull Stands: If you bolt on your R & G cotton reels to your bike and then stick your Pit Bull stand under to lift, you'll probably find that the stands lift arms won't quite line up with your new reels..Here's the chimp easy fix contributed by the good people at Pit Bull.. "Those top supports on the S1000RR stand should be inverted so that the square piece of steel that the spooled plate is bolted to is facing UP and not DOWN. That will allow for additional width at the expense of a small amount of leverage when lifting the bike. Here's a picture.

That will allow your customers to use the R & G spool kit with our stands."

Default Another Pit Bull and R&G Delimea

I can tell you one combination of Pit Bull and R&G spools that don't work as I hoped.

I bought a forward arm Pit Bull stand for spools as shown above for two reasons: 1) save space in the garage while working on the bike, and 2) hoping I could stablize the bike better by myself by being centered with the bike while holding it upright.

I bought the R&G offset cotton reels thinking I'd get additional protection around the chain and sprocket as well as lower spools for greater lift.

Unfortunately, the spools are so far back that the axle between the wheels of the lift stand hit the rear tire of the bike before getting the spool receivers close enough to the spools. This just doesn't work. I've raised the spool receivers as high as they can go, and even if I could get them to engage it would lift the rear so high the bike would be unstable or much higher than the front stands when both are used. If I lower the receivers and use the wheel stand from the rear, the spools are so far to the rear it also makes the bike unstable to try and steady the bike upright and lift by yourself. $hit.

My other problem is I had hoped to use the same spools in the offset arms OR in the pre-drilled holes in the swing arm. The bolts work, but there is no spacer sent with these spools. My observation is the hole in the swingarm is placed in the flat area cut for the axle holder but so close to the fatter raised areas of the swingarm that the back side of the spools are only partially supported by the uneven high surface of the swingarm.

Can any of you that have the regular R&G spools tell me if a spacer is provided to make sure the back side of the spool is on a more solid surface and the bolt tightened evenly?

Thanks

Rainman,
The regular spools do come with an approximately 5mm thick black metal spacer . I believe you can probably stack 2-3 hardened AN washers to do the same job and still clear the raised area in the swingarm.
I have the traditional rear handle style Pit bulls and mine have a rubber piece on the opposite end of the lifting forks (unlike firearmsdoc) , which precludes me flipping them over as he indicated. Mine also have the curved frame design.
I was hoping to keep all of the sliders and spools the same brand, as I am quite happy with R&G products on my other bikes. It looks like I might have to make a change in this case, unfortunately.
Anyone have some spools that screw into the swingarms that will center on the Pit bull forks?

Default Forward arm Pit Bull

I had the same problem with the forward arm Pit Bull rear stand and R&G spools. I simply ordered a set of smaller spools from Pit Bull and they fit perfectly in the holes forward of the axle. The R&G spools are more like sliders now and I use the smaller Pit Bull spools, which works great!
