Just wondering something about the 30k kms service on a 2015.
My dealer is telling me they now replace the rocker cover gasket at the 30k service. Has anyone heard anything about this? They say they are doing it as bikes have been developing a leak not long after the 30k service.

I didn't do it at 30k but when I did the valves at 36k I did as well as the spark plugs. I don't know why they would be under the valve cover at 30k when the valves aren't due for another 6k.
Some dealers do it as it's piece of mind while you're there. Might as well do it. Cause if it leaks. It's all gotta come off again. They are reusable but it's cheap insurance to just replace them.
I didn't replace it or the seals around the spark plugs at the 18k miles one, but I did at the 36k one. Mine didn't leak a drop but I was careful when I put it back together. BTW I didn't need shims at either check I don't baby it but then I don't bang it off the rev limiter all the time either.
