Default K&N Oil Filter

K&N just sent me an email notifying me that the KN-164 oil filter will fit the S1000RR.....simply FYI......That is all.....as you were.

Also FYI:

If you install a non OEM oil filter and you have an oil related engine failure, your warranty may not cover it as you are not using a BMW part.

Now K and N may, but it could turn into quite the hassle.

Based on the new 9000 RPM break in limiter, that we still do not really know if there have been engine failures, if there were what caused them, etc.

I would recommend spending a few bucks more on the BMW filter.

I hear ya' and I agree. I've used K&N on all my bikes without a hitch, but on a bike this expensive, it's not worth taking the chance. Manufacturers often go that extra mile to find something to deny the claim.
