Default Power Commander Problems

Anyone out there had any problems with there power commander.

I had my first today, system has run well for about 8 months with autotune.

But today the system started making the bike fire on 3 cylinders, i came into the pits, left the bike for 5min restarted it and problem went away.

Went back out on track and the bike cut out on me mid corner at about 210kph, which was not the best.

The whole bike was dead, no power, no ignition lights, nothing.

Turns out the power commander tripped the number 7 fuse and killed the bike, i replaced the fuse, turned on the ignition and the fuse blew again.

The min i disconnected the PCV the bike went back to normal.

Not happy one bit with the PCV especially all the time its been used.

Has this happened to anyone else, as it is a dangerous fault.

I would need some more info but the PCV could not cause the 12v power to the igntion to go out. We get power from the fuel pump circuit and you can pull the fuse for this circuit and still have dash power.

I would be looking at the grounds. Jeremy Toye had a similar issue early in the year and was also blaming it on the PCV. Any chance you put on an aftermarket battery. He had one and put the main ground to the frame and the PCV was also connected there. Once we grounded to the engine all has been fine since. Let me know what you find.

The PCV was set up exactly as it had to be in the instruction manual, and has ran with no problems for 8 months.
Soon as the PCV was unplugged the bike came back to life, when PCV was reconnected the bike blew the number 7 fuse, this was the same story everytime tried using the PCV, got to the stage it also activated the drop sensor and the bike had to be taken to BMW dealer to get diagnostics done.

There also was no aftermarket battery.

My bike is now blowing the #7 4-amp ignition fuse everytime I turn the key on. I have a Yoshimura Fender Eliminator and PC-V w/Autotune. The bike has worked for several months with these mods with no issues. I even started the bike last Sunday without problem. When I turned the key to start the bike today, there was no power. I checked the battery and it was good. I started checking fuses and found the #7 fuse blown. I replaced it, turned the key and the fuse blew again. I dropped the bike off at the dealer today to take a look at it.

Hmm. My PCV and autotune is sitting at my house waiting install. Hope to not run into these problems but will keep this thread in mind!

Same here. At least I will be installing the PCV without Auto Tune, just a custom map. I hope I dont have to worry about this issue.

I will have the dealer check the LED lights on the fender eliminator and the PC-v/Autotune first to see if either is the cause.

It was the LED lights on the Yosh fender eliminator that caused the problem. The dealer stated that Yosh has upgraded the license plate light. The dealer is waiting on Yosh to send a replacement. Hopefully this solves the problem with blowing the #7 fuse.
