Taylormade or Austin GP3?
Hi!
I'm on the edge, can not decide which exhaust I'll be getting over winter, Taylors made or Austin GP3?
Austin requires cutting, Taylors not, Taylors doesn't require remapping Austin?
Taylor Made exhaust is a bit cheaper, too..
But I love the look and the sound of both (yeah, I'm one of those guys for whom the stock power of S1000RR is still enough)...
Please post your opinions and experience, any input very much appreciated...

B4 I bought the Austin racing, I listened to the video clips on the internet featuring all the after market exhausts.
The taylormade does look good but sorry no power gain except in the mid range and it doesn’t sound that mean or different than the original exhaust, that is why I didn’t purchase it.
On the other hand the Austin racing sounded so mean in the video clips like these below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnuYAj3SaIY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJf87x6650A&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBkkvo35Hhg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1gQBBuYo5g&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL 35721B247CED9749
The sound it produces is unreal especially when using the quickshifter (loud BANGS) that impresses u and other people on the road
Yes, the cutting of the exhaust is something to consider but for me the cutting and the fitting of the exhaust cost me only around $100
for the remapping, I can't believe a full system doesn’t require a remapping the exhaust was backfiring like hell after fitting the exhaust system but now after fitting Driven block off plates and Bazzaz system, 99% of the back fires has been eliminated and much smoother running of the bike.
I u want to fit the any full exhaust, please consider refueling the bike

Got the GP3 stubby (V2 carbon) can...This is that baddest B!t(h on the block. EVERY other 1000RR I have run across is ordering them(so they say). I have HARLEY riders ask me to rev it. You will be a loud mother. But it is soooo sexy when you get that 13krpm shift and that BoP sound makes women within 500ft look in your direction. Looks great. Weight savings are VERY NOTICEABLE! The headers with the ARCS system installed(can included) is lighter then JUST THE CAT!!!!No muff. You can feel it in the bike. For under $1000 everyone wants my exhaust. Taylormades look ok. But I like the raw pipe look. if I could.....I would have got Ti....that black can into blue y-link into cherry red on hard run stainless......weep.

No question : ACRS w/ GP3 ( get rid of the Cat), plus PC5 mapped for ACRS (check Hard Racing). You will not be disappointed, mid-range, top-end, totally. You can handle the install with a little skill, or easily find an installer. Good luck, and report back on your final outcome.

Thank you everyone for input... gp3 makes more sense to me now...
So Austin it is... but now I've got another question, what power commander is recommended with Austin exhaust? I was thinking about bazzaz with quickshift. What u guys think? Is there better/equal solution for less money?

Doesn't your bike have the Shift Assist or DTC? If not, then bazzaz with quickshifter or quickshifter and traction control is good a choice. As a tuning kit, it is a great tool especially if you add to it the Z-AFM, and i see that almost all the S1000RR that added a Bazzaz system gave great power figures plus good drivability.

I don't know if this thread is still alive but I figured I'd hop in to get an opinion. Is is just me or doesn't it seem like the Taylormade is the only option out there that could take any sort of spill on the right side and not cost you a shiny new exhaust? I love the Austin Racing, but i can just see a low side grinding that pipe into the swing arm. Or at a minimum, tweaking the pipe and leaving it weaker and out of alignment.

Thread is still alive,
1000RR Bahrain I have traction control and ABS, but I thought shift assist comes separate, no? I'm afraid to try, as it may damage transmission (I think)... and if it is in fact separate bazzaz with QS is the way to go...
