Default PCV: to install or not!

Thinking about the installment of PCV and S.F.M.(Secondary fuel module) from Dyno, + BCM air filters. S1R was bought this year and exploring mostly on the streets. Also I installed full Acra race exhaust and have some plans to ride on the track next season. Could you guys give me your thoughts and experience about this kind of tuning and how it does influence on the engine’s deterioration&breakage?. Thanks

Here's some info on the SFM --> SFM now shipping

As far as longevity/maintenance/breakage/etc. If a PCV is used/tuned correctly, I haven't heard of anything negative happening to your bike... after all the intent of the PCV is to get the fueling optimized. Now if you flirt with the outer bounds of AFRs to get every little bit of power out, you could flirt with some issues (running it too lean).

Why don't you start with the PC5 and the map for your specific exhaust system pre-loaded? It is a very straight-forward install you can do for yourself. The guys at Hard Racing in North Carolina put outa good You-Tube on the steps to install. You will realize a definite improvement, and if you are primarily looking at street rather than track, that may be all you'll need. The SFM is going to require special mapping and dyno.
As for the air filters, I am not yet convinced in makes any improvement in street use. Good luck and enjoy!

In some of the technical issues I try to rely on the opinion of some kind “professionals”. But after I’ve heard their advises I’d try to check on the bases of the rider’s expertise because here in Moscow we haven’t a “good” range of tuning- moto specialists except the sports team members whom hard to reach. So I called some company that has a dyno stand and he advised me additionally to install S.F.M. also for the upper. Regarding the installation of air filters he told me that in case of S1R they were much impressed by additional HP power results….Who knows…
