Default Fuel Injectors without filters?

I pulled out all 8 injectors to run them through a test and clean at work. I don't see a filter in the top. I'm trying to figure out what, if any, filter to put in. Kinda scary if they run without filters! Anyone else had their injectors out?

The fuel filter in the fuel tank filters the fuel. There is a screen for larger particles on the bottom of the pick-up (before the fuel pump). Not sure why you want to put filters in the injectors as well.

I flowed and matched injectors for my F4i and I regularly clean and test boat and car injectors. They all have had some sort of screen in the top of the injector. Never seen one that didn't have a screen.

This is what my F4i injectors look like.

Here they are without the screen.

The filter screen as removed.

I doubt it would hurt if you could fit one in there if you wanted. The flow would be the same being the fuel is a liquid under uniform pressure in the system--fuel rail.

Why you want to mess up your injectors? To take them out and clean them ok but to make some modifications I really do not understand it.

I took them out to clean them. Not trying to modify them, just trying to find out if they are complete or lacking parts.

What method do you use to clean the injectors?
A "how to" with pictures would be great if you have the time.

My Hayabusa had filters in the injectors and I removed them.
