Hi all! Can anyone throw some advice my way?? Im thinking of changing the can on my S1, but other than the obvious look and noise change, is the power difference worth while?? Plus, whats the best can to go for? Thanks

If you're just talking slip-on (i.e. not getting rid of the can)... there is very little (if any) power gains to be had by buying a different can. There is also very little noise difference. So you're down to looks - which is personal anyway. For noise, you could unhook the cables on the rear exhaust valve and that will give you more rumble at idle as well as up to ~5K.

Does unclipping those cables have any adverse affect on the low down performance or affect potential warrenty issues?

None that the"seat of my pants" dyno could tell. The rear valve is there for noise reasons. I'm in the US and haven't heard of any warranty issues. It does not throw a code on the dash, but when hooked up to the BMW Dealer computer it will show that the rear valve isn't working properly. You could always reconnect the cables if you take it back to the Dealer for something if that is of concern.
