Default Need your advice/opinion

Hello everybody,

I've been following the forum for quite a while but this is my first post. Man what a bike! Just need people's input on what exhaust is the "best"/which one you would recommend:

Devil Exhaust (I don't like the fact that you have to remove the passenger pegs, also, where can I find it? The places I've looked charged ridiculous sums because of the recent Euro/US conversion rate.) I heard it gives the biggest boost in HP...?

Akra full Titanium Long EVO
Is there a way to get the same one in this video (lasered, without sticker):
YouTube - ‪The Chase - BMW RR vs. BMW M3‬‏

Akra full Titanium shorty
Is this legal on the track (decibel level)? Does it boost performance better than the long if it is combined with a PC V?

As a general question, would all of these exhausts be approved if I was to enter into amateur/ entry level racing.

Thanks in advance for the feedback

This is a tough question as most people will recommend the one they have. So, youre only going to get biased opinions from most people who havent heard anything else.

I love the Devil but it was too expensive. Everyone had the Akra and I wanted to be different. I went with the Austin Racing and I love it.

I was at a dyno day a month back and there was about 35 bikes there. Everyone said I had the meanest sounding exhaust there. It was quite a compliment.

I feel your pain. I too have been looking at exhausts for sometime and just cant seem to make my mind up... At first I was locked on the Taylormade..loved the look, sounds from what i have heard good and liked that it came with a lower fairing piece. Cost didnt seem to bad around $1500.. Then I looked at the Akra Shorty...great pipe also..! I love the Austin Racing GP3..waiting on the full system as I dont want to cut my oem system. Then you have to look at PCV and getting it mapped. Thus far, havnt found anyone around here (pittsburgh, PA) that seems to have the knowledge I want. Then you have the overall performace of the bike itself. I mean a. rider ability vs. bike ability, b. how much power does one really need as I only ride on the street with the occasional track day... and of course $ is a factor too...and as far as like the akra slipe on its expensive for a slip on...so I too am in a pickle as to what I want..

but to answer your question...in my opinion the best exhaust is whichever one you like the looks, sounds, performance and can afford... the bike already rocks!

I was sold on a lot of exhaust. Graves has a nice one and u would not need a belly pan, tecbike has a nice cheap belly pan to fill that gap if u were to buy an akra. Taylor was in the equation also. Brocks seemed to have the most gains out of them all but i didnt feel comfortable paying that much. I finally went with Austin gp3, sure u have to cut the oem cat off and I was in debate, especially after the valve rattle YouTube video. The gp3 sits in that open space left after u remove the cat therefore a bellypan wasn't a necessity any longer. Performance gains weren't as good as I expected but there were gains. Roughly twelve horsepower throughout the rpm range, however if u account for parasitic loss your numbers will equal exactly what BMW says your bike has. Actually I ended up doing 196hp so I somehow gained a few over oem after I had it tuned. Overall the bike is plenty fast, and as everyone has said, get what u feel comfortable getting because honestly the gains are usually all the same.

Thanks for all the replies. I really appreciate it. yeah, I think it really depends on personal taste.
For now though, due to a lack of funds, a need for more skills, and way too much power already, I will hold off on touching the exhaust.
HyperM3, PM me! I'm in your area (~10 miles...)
