Default Which Slip-on?

I am trying to decide which slip on pipe to put on my bike. The three things I want are great sound, good look, and no horsepower loss. Please let me know if you have one you would recommend.

This has probably been covered somewhere in the forums but I can not find it. If it has and you can provide a link to that thread, that would be appreciated.

Looks is up to you, as for sound slipons dont make any real difference.
Or for HP for that matter

I test rode a S1000rr before I bought my bike and it had a Akra slip on and it didn't sound much different than stock. I put an Austin Racing slipon on mine and liked it for a bit coupled with the exhaust butterfly valve mod. I'd offer it up for sale but I gotta figure out a way to get the link pipe off the cat

On the BMW you buy what you like in terms of looks only.

A slip-on does not give you any power and they all sound similar to stock because they are being trottle by the cat. In fact Motorrad Magazine tested almost all of the slip-on brands Produkttest: Zubehörschalldämpfer für BMW S 1000 RR - Motorradauspuff - MOTORRAD online . The stock bike made 201PS (crank) the next best being the Bodis at 199 and the Akra at 198 . They all lost power power!! The tests were done without fueling corrections. They are probaly all lighter than stock but it goes witout saying that the stock can actually is a very good one. Note that the full Akra in the test is the lousy one with all the ABE gubbins like the exhaust valve and cat, not the race version.

Flathead screwdriver (or something to catch the lip of the link pipe), thick cloth and a hammer. Tap out with hammer on the lip. It should only take a couple of good taps, then wiggle it off.

I don't mind the look of the stock. As far as an aftermarket, I don't want a gap between the stock pipe and the slip on. It needs to be a smooth transition. On my old gixxer I put on a micron can and loved the sound. Seems like an aftermarket can on the S1000 would be an improvement?? Besides the exhaust valve mod, any other ideas on how to get more noise out of the stock can?
