Default Akra + ECU

What is the deal with the full Akra system ?

My dealer is telling me that you must buy through BMW to get the ECU.

They have said if you put a full system on with the BMW approved Akra ECU I will void the bikes warranty .

When I search the sites on the net for Akra system's no one is talking about needing a ECU.

Any help will be appreciated.

If you buy the official BMW Akra full system and ECU (called the HP Race Power Kit) you get the pipe and reworked software in the ECu and you have to sign a piece of paper voiding the warranty. But you can buy virtually the same pipe from an Akra retailer and add a Power Commander 5 which will not void the warranty and get 100% of the geegees you are after (without the other HP ECU functionality changes on the TC etc) provided you have a good dealer or you take off the PC before you go to the dealer.

You do not have to change the bikes ECU, you just need to re-fuel the bike with a PC or similar devise to get the most from the pipe.
