Default Akrapovic Full System

I was told by more than one authorized dealer that the SKRR is programed at the factory to accept the Akrapovic Full System. There is no need for a Power Commander or any other ECU/re-program. Apparently Akrapovic and BMW have a relationship and jointly developed said systems. Please advise.

That's true for the Akrapovic slip-on (and pretty much any other slip-on I'd bet), but I'd doubt it's true for the full system. I believe you could get away with a full Akra system w/o a PCV as the bikes a bit rich on top in stock form, but you wouldn't realize the true potential of the exhaust.

So nobody needs the hp race kit then which changes the air fuel ratio for the.............full Akra. You need it, trust me. Huge gains to be had with the pipe and PCv.

You 100% need a PCV or Bazzaz if you are running a full system! You're wasting the money spent on your exhaust if you don't.

Ive the full system on with no further mods. My dealer says this is totally fine and is covered by the BMW warranty etc and there wont be any issues. After 1000 miles the bike is still running perfectly with no blips.

Default Full Akrapovic, to PC or not to PC

Thanks guys. All my experience leads me to believe the same. I have a hard time accepting that a PC, etc. is not needed to fine tune a stock whatever after a full system is installed.

However, one of my "dealer" sources has a track only S1000RR and swears it is true, you do not need a PC.

Do any of you know from actual experience or do you know of someone who can verify?

Thank you "GS TRV", just read your reply. How does she sound?

We have 3 in our group (me included) and there are many on this board. Every single one will confirm the benefits of a pc with thno pipe. It is literally doubling the peak gains from 6 to 12. And the midrange gains are even more impressive.

according to everyone i have talked to (dealers, track guys, and a friend that has akra w/o PC) say u don't need the PC the bike will readjust for the changes after a 100 or so miles. they do say u will get more for your money if u do use a PC

It is also my understanding that you can purchase a Akrapovic full system wtih a BMW part number.

But that BMW part number includes a price that is about double that of the same system purchased from outside sources.

I have been looking into the S-B10R1-ASZ system because it retains the factory look and fit and eliminates the CAT.

But it appears that it is just too loud and Akrapovic refuses to address that problem and offer a DB killer even after a year or longer listening to complaints from their customers that have purchased this system and have had to remove it even for track use.

Because of that I have to seriously consider what Austin Racing is offering.

I also believe IMHO that anyone who spends the money for the bike and then spends even more for a nice exhaust would be foolish not to have the bike put on a dyno and mapped for the few extra $.

I personally do not need the extra HP but I would like to remove the CAT and enjoy a system that I could hear without earplugs and tickets.

Just my 2 cents.
