Default Akrapovic S-B10R1-ASZ

Has anyone installed one of these systems on their bike that could give me some input?

Is there any factory info about the DB level?

Is a DB killer available from outside sources?

Has anyone been DB shot at a track?

I need help with this one please.

This is the full shorty system stainless headers and a can that looks like the factory one.

Thanks

Lots of people on here have that system ( well, the titanium one )

no db killer, unless you want to make something and stuff it in there ( i personally hate db killers, whats the point of going for a performance exhausts then shoving a baffle up its arse

It's about 108db at a static 5500rpm

i use an Austin Racing slip on link pipe to fit to my Akra pipes and a bigger Austin can for my track days

I'll tell you something else about the pipe. Common view is that it is about a hp short of the long version, but mine is now making 2 hp more than all the other long pipes. Could be the engine but could also be that the a/f is now right for the pipe at this altitude.

I am not interested in a 1 HP gain at the top end that even Troy would not notice.

If that were the case a system that costs more than $800 than this one would be very expensive per HP. $800 Plus per 1 HP gain.

I want the stock look but the DB level is to loud for some tracks and the street.

Most people would be better off trying to lose 10lbs than gain 1 HP

How much does a 10lb loss equal in HP and costs nothing

Now I am confused. What system gives you just 1 hp? I was comparing the long vs short version (in other words they are very similar). Both of them will net you 10 hp peak and 15 lower midrange with a PCV and map.

P.S. By fitting either you loose more than 13-14 pounds (i.e 10 hp more (with PC) and 13 lbs less). And if you know the answers, don't ask the questions. Get whatever you want, sheesh!

Sounds like you best stick with the standard system and just put the Akra slip on then!

I'm not sure why you are confused are you not the one that mentioned "a hp"
That must mean ONE because you mentioned "2 hp".
The difference between 1 and 2 is 1.

I understand about the weight savings and the HP gains that are available with the different systems.

But you are the one who mentioned a 1 hp gain with a longer can.
Is it worth the cost and trouble to change that can baack and forth for 1 or 2 hp?

If I already had all the answers that I am looking for before I purchase a system for my bike I would not be wasting my time on this or any other forum trying to sort out facts from fiction.

Nigel is probably one of the most helpful people on this forum. You yourself obviously know it is loud or you wouldnt be talking about a db killer. His hp difference was only referencing between the long and short can. If you do a little search function action you will notice many people that have the short can talk about how extremely loud it is. If your track usually test exhaust then probably not a good system for you. Maybe look more towards a austin can so that you have the option to quiet the exhaust down, and have a smaller look. Just not a good idea to argue with respected members when you have 10 post.
