Default Stock exhaust painted black

Just painted it. After selling the two bros I am waiting for the Autsin GP stubby and thought I might paint the stock black. Looks good. I think someone else did this before me. Used black grill paint.

Also took some footage for the exhaust mod in case people were curious about the sound.

sorry its dirty. was tinkering with stuff. it looks perfect when clean. After 100+ miles, about 30-40 riding really hard temps were up it all stuck. Perfect.

Looks pretty good.

I was thinking of doing this to the big ugly collector but I wasn't sure how the paint would hold up over repeated heat cycles and the British weather (rain). It might start looking really tatty. My theory was that it might blend in with the lower fairing a bit better, (why didn't BMW extend the lower fairing to cover it?).

So why didn't you paint the Cat box black as well

Same question as Yello, how durable will the paint be....

Looks nice! You could paint the cat too as a bunch of us have, but I sorta like it the way you have it. (But it may not look so nice in a few thousand miles - one reason I painted the cat was to avoid it looking so ratty. The combo of high heat and being in the line of road grime really does a number over time.)

Many of us have been using this stuff and it seems to be holding up pretty well but for all we know, perhaps we're only buying high-priced BBQ paint.

Looks great!

You're painting the car too, right?

Exhaust mod (mentioned, but not explained)?

The Exhaust mod is in the video link and someone already did an AWESOME job explaining the it DIY section. I am working on the chicken stripes. Roads are kinda cold and I'm a semi new rider not trying to test the quality of Germany engineering on much less impressive german pavement.

I did not paint the cat because I will be ordering a tecbike belly pan pretty soon and that will cover that ugly cat up. It has held up about 15 heat cycles so far only thing is I should have put more coats on as small pebble took a few small very unnoticeable chips out. This was just a test. Will pro it up a bit better.

Not my car.lol. Apartment complex.

I painted the cat and it makes a huge difference, used pot belly stove paint and its handled the temp extremely well.
