Default Akra Slip on + PCV Mid range gain?

Chaps and chappies, is anyone running the stock headers and cat, plus the Akra Slip on with a PCV?
I was wondering if there is any point having the PCV fitted whilst running almost standard exhaust setup.
Basically, does the PCV sort out the boring mid range effort and give anything extra at the top end?

Full system looks like she is coming off - too loud and cant find what I want aesthetically with anything else. Bike way to angry for me with current setup and Im getting hacked off dipping the clutch every time the police are in sight!

its the only reason i didnt buy the short akra wayyyyy to angry mad isnt it....

there is good reason to stick a pcv on standard for sure ull grab a few hp and smooth it out a slight......

iv got the austin with a 300mm can and its much better than the ASZ and the only reason i didnt get the long one is because the can is ugly and the hanger bracket look naff oh and ur left with a hole in the rearsets that looks stoopid..

also u might be interested i know i am, in austin there making there arcs system with a baffled link pipe that'll quieten it down a bit more, plus it is fitted the same way as the ASZ with the hanger and no silly strap......?????????

Sounds promising - any photos of yours? I have sent a note AR fronm their website, got a response, but maybe I am not being specific enough about what I want. In essence, if I could keep my Akra headers on, what else is out there that will fit their headers and give me a sexy shortish, road legal, track passable pipe that doesnt need a hanger bracket and isnt much bigger if at all to my Akra shorty! I am honestly going round in circles! ((((( As you say, if i had heard the Akra before buying, I would never have fitted it. For me it completely detracts from the bike and gives me a flamin headache!

yeah i completely understand its a pain..........in the head

i can hear scott parker with another ''not again'' he has a ASZ system on his with a long austin can he seems to be ok with it does make a lot of difference..

u could do the same.....

other than that id wait untill austin have made this link pipe and get the arcs system..........

also u have made the point that ud like the midrange its one reason i got the arcs i wanted to keep the stock headers just for that slight plumpness in the midrange because of the valves.............

Akra dB killer/baffle/muffler

thats scotts with an ASZ

nah i havnt got pics me ol mate to much hard work for me might do some soon..............

I installed the PCV originally w/the Akra slip-on (leaving the headers/cat). And then had a custom map made for it. The difference was minimal. I gained about 3hp on the top and the throttle response was a little better. But no great increase in mid-range.

For that, you're gonna have to dump the cat!
