Default Exhaust confusion?!!

Hi all.

Trying to decide on a full system for my s1000rr, but i'm fussy as hell when it comes to the overall look of it.
Whats annoying me is when you look at the pics of the race bikes the akrapovic can looks smaller in diameter and length than what we can buy? On previous bikes its always been an akra, but im holding off as often it just looks too big?! obviously i could shorten it by a few inches but again the overall circumference worries me.
Searching around the can part of the system seems to stay the same? its just the headers in titanium or s/steel that seems to be the only option.
The Yoshimura system is the best looking i can find, but in the UK the cheapest price is £2650!!! errrrrr.....bit too much me thinks!

Any input gratefully recieved!

It took me a long time to see one i liked over the standard one until i saw the AR gp stubby side exit which i fitted. My personal opinion is less is better because the bike looks more balanced with just a little showing and of course the sound is awesome. Seems to me most prices are way over the top for any benefit most riders would get. It has to be your decision..............

I really want the akrapovic system, but i want the one the race bikes seem to have, with the slightly smaller can than the ones we as public seem to buy?

Sounds to me that you would be interested in the side exit exhaust by AustinRacing. That thing is about as sleek as it gets & the sound is insane. My fav is the AR22 full exhaust in INCONEL with the BLACK V2 (side exit) can. Top that off with a full belly pan & you've basically got the baddest looking/sounding/performing exhaust on the planet! Not to leave out the fact that it's not something you will see too often. Almost nobody has that on the streets...almost everyone has the Akra

You can find the race can but you will pay for it. They make several different cans. Not sure I'd want to pay 3Gs US$ either for a can alone. But if your set on that brand then... There are other brands that have cans that look like what you want. Of course they will be cheaper. But if you want to stay with the big A you are probably going to have to pay for it.
