Default BMW of Oklahoma [City]

The Oklahoma BMW (Ducati, Vespa, Aprilia, MV) dealer closed it's doors 12/8/11. My 20 minute drive to the nearest dealer just turned in to an hour and a half. I loved going in there just to see all the beautiful bikes. I wonder of they're going to sell their Desmosidici at a heavy discount to get rid of it....

They're closed down? We have to go to Tulsa now? This sucks.

edit: sorry i didn't make it to the November meet to meet up with ya. I got last second orders to go to Greece for a month and had to leave Nov 3rd.

Yeah, you can read Ryan's goodbye at the link above. It ends with

"today I begin my unbridled efforts to become McLaren's top Formula 1 driver!

Sincerely yours,

Ryan Tupps "

We'll see how that goes

No problem about the meet up. I was the only bike there, but it got a bit of attention.

I bought mine the first of October. I have been reading the forum since then. This is really bummer news. I am hoping this bike will need far fewer trips to the dealer than my Ducati did. I am kind of glad I traded my Ducati when I did.

I've only had to bring mine up there for the scheduled maintenance. 600, 6000, and 12000 miles. Kinda makes me want to put off riding so I don't get to the 18000 so fast, that's a big service.

Chances are you'll be fine Dave. Although there have been some that have made a number of warranty trips (far and few between and true with most vehicles) you should be fine. I service my own, so its only gone into the shop twice - once for the vent hose/drop sensor bulletin (the first S1's didn't come w/a drop sensor and the crankcase vent hose had a poor design). And then once for the clutch cover... it seeped oil and turned out that there was a batch that came out initially when the bike was released in 2009/2010 that didn't use a gasket there... so they put one in.

I'm in a similar situation as you guys in that I drive about an hr and 40 to get to my dealer. I do have one about 50 minutes away, but I like the one that is further so that's where I end up.

Welcome btw.

After the waranty ended on my Ducati I started to do all the maintance and repairs for it. Thats how I bought the BMW. I went in to get a closer shim and they told me it would take at least a week to get one. I had vacation the next week and was pretty disapointed. I walked passed the BMW on the way out and looked at it for about 2 mins. I went home put the Duc back together and with in an hour and a half I had a new bike.
