yeah try winding them up a touch n get a feel for them if it upsets your riding then re shim the fork with hevier spring and or oil...........

if ur a big fella then the springs might be a good idea..........

A couple of weeks ago while a track day we were 3 guys with s1000rr trying to set up the suspension, and we nothice that the forks tend to bottom real easily.
I weight 220 pounds, any idea of a good setup for me while in the track?
Regards,
Hector

suspension is such a personal thing its impossible to say what is good for any one person..............

u need to have a good read about setting up suspension and try it yourself, tiny little ujustment's and months of patient's............

there are a few chaps on here that know the suzzy stuff, im sure one will pipe up n tell u what there using and settings if there neer your weight it might be a good first step.........

I had my pre load turned up to 9 on the front and the fast rebound and slow rebound changed to suit and it still bottomed out, this time around i'll get heavier oil in there and if that dont help new springs and revalve when cash is flowing abit better.....

Thank you all for your comments. I weight about 200 pounds, so I think I'll replace the springs if setting a heavier preload doesn't work.

You asked for "Experts advise"

How do you know who is an expert and who is not??

I would say an expert is going to recommend the best suspension available not trying to adjust the stock suspension.

Are you willing spend what it takes to make the bike right?

Or are you looking for people, I mean experts, to tell you to adjust the stock parts?

Do I have it wrong? I though he would have to wind (turn) the adjustments down (stiffer).
