That guy does not know how to run a bike on a Dyno.

Letting it rev down slowly like that makes it run extremely lean. Could burn the rings and such.

Needs to hit the brake--On the Dyno and not the bike--immediately after chopping the throttle until the revs are down to where the next take off RPM is--probably 4K.

the dyno probably doesnt have a brake installed as its a option on newer dyno's and older ones didnt have them..

Sounds fishy to me. I was at a MC technical school and their dynos looked to be at least a few years old and that was in '06. They had brakes.

Do you realize how lean that motor is running when it is winding down like that. The engine is still breathing but without any fuel going through it--at least very little compared to what it needs to run at that wheel speed. Air with very little fuel is being pulled through by the action of the dyno on the rear wheel and transmitting through the motor.

here is a link for a dynojet dyno forsale which happens to be a 06 model without a drum brake. every option is available when ordering a dyno but alot of shops dont purchase them. the drum speeds up the tuning process as well acts as a good safety measure when something goes wrong...im not doubting your skills but i happen to know a thing or 2 about the way a dyno is sold and operated also..
