Default Buying/Selling S1000RR shipping options.

So I bought two used S1000RRs in Sept, where as one was for investment purposes to resell for a small profit since I got both fairly low. I sold one on eBay around the 2nd week of October, got a deposit, then 4 weeks later I got the cashiers check (valid and cleared!), and just yesterday the bike was finally picked up. I made a little video that summarized the arrival of the bikes which was in a very nice enclosed 18 wheeler, but wait until you see the pics in this video of how the sold bike was picked up and taken away yesterday. I was mortified on how it left to make it's trip to a dock in NJ (400 miles?) then it'll be shipped to CA which is exactly where it was 3 months ago! Regardless of what happens in transit, its not my problem and at least I do have pictures to document the bike was in great condition when it left my house:

If you care, here's the thread with a video on the arrival of the bikes in October:
The Arrival!

Looks pretty well strapped. It should hold fine. I'd be more worried about the rocks n crap being kicked up behind the truck..only to slam against the uncovered/exposed bike. That thing is set up like a catchers hit for debris..no bueno!

Yeah, I thought about all the crap being thrown up from the tires too. I worry if it goes like this to CA from NJ, what all the residual snow and road chemicals in the midwest will do to the bike.

me I would have been on the phone to the new purchaser and sending him info on how it was being transported, let him/her decide whether to proceed or not. that is exactly what I did do when an unexperienced shipper showed up to pick up my RSVR factory that I sold to CA. In the end I ended up helping the shipper strap it down, donated some soft ties and a canyon dancer to the effort and the bike made it without a scratch. however if the purchaser had decided not to let the shipper take the bike, I would have sent them away empty handed. We have alot of eperience shipping horses and if if a hauler shows up that is unsafe the horse doesnt load without the owners being fully informed and okaying it, never had an owner yet that said load anyway but more than 1 shipper has left empty from our place..

Thumbs down

You were smart to document this mess for future reference!

Apart from the obvious visually, the only way to tell if a bike is "strapped" DOWN "properly" in its countless configurations is if specially the front forks & the rear shock are compressed & in the pictures depicted they obviously ARE NOT even slightly!

Otherwise its just a bunch of wayward bindings needlessly pulling & stressing the bike excessively from apposing angles or simply a hack job like this! The icing on the cake is the strap & towel on the seat! lol.. It could very well stay upright but who knows! Poor buyer!
