Default Barber Nov 12/13 with NESBA

Finally got around to editing vids from Barber. They seem boring to me, but if you've got nothing else to do, enjoy the clips. In one session (3rd?) the rear camera came loose, but it was zip tied to the bike and I pit in to take it off. Also the battery dies in the front and rear camera at various times so the vids will switch to the full view of whichever camera was still recording. So here goes:
11/12/11 at Barber. A Group
2nd Session: NESBA A Group 2nd Session at Barber 11/12/11 - YouTube
3rd Session: NESBA A Group 3rd Session at Barber 11/12/11 - YouTube
4th Session part 1: NESBA A Group 4th Session at Barber 11/12/11 part 1 - YouTube
4th Session part 2: NESBA A Group 4th Session at Barber 11/12/11 part 2 - YouTube
5th Session: NESBA A Group 5th Session at Barber 11/12/11 - YouTube
6th Session: NESBA A Group 6th Session at Barber 11/12/11 - YouTube
7th Session: NESBA A Group 7th Session at Barber 11/12/11 - YouTube

11/13/11 at Barber. A Group . Starting with the 3rd session, I put the PIP in the lower right side so it's a little bigger and doesn't block much, if any, of the forward view.
2nd Session: NESBA A Group 2nd Session at Barber 11/13/11 - YouTube
3rd Session: NESBA A Group 3rd Session at Barber 11/13/11 - YouTube
4th Session: NESBA A Group 4th Session at Barber 11/13/11 - YouTube
5th Session (front view only since rear battery died while sitting in the grid): NESBA A Group 5th Session at Barber 11/13/11 - YouTube

6th Session (last session of the day!): No vid since I was packing up to drive home!

Nov 13 4th session: The pass at 9:33 is cool, but if that's not cool enough, the pass at 9:44 left me reeling. Who was that guy?

The Vesrah AMA team was there practicing and both mentioned passes were by one of the team members. Made me feel like I'd never been on the track before. The pass at 9:44 was their new "superstar" 13 (or 14) year old who might be Nick McFadden as seen on the Vesrah team page: Team Vesrah | Vesrah Suzuki AMA Pro Racing Even with the close passing, it never seems to worry me too much, as long as I don't get taken out!

I read somewhere that Barber is McFadden's favorite track. If that's who he was, it shows. I can't imagine setting up someone to pass him on the rumble strip before the museum turn. Some riders go over the strip and others to the right of the strip. How did he calculate in his mind that you were going off to the side, particularly because on at least one earlier lap, you went over it? These kids know no fear...they do things by instinct unshackled by experience and that's how they should be at this age.

It's too bad more folks don't ziptie or safety wire their GoPros... sure would save them a chunk of money

With the ongoing and increased popularity I know our track is going to start requiring them to be safety wired. Had a practice session where someone lost one on a double apex turn. It wasn't directly in the race line, but it was in a passing line Came REAL close to running it over a couple times. Would go to pass and then realize I had a little silver box in my way that I really wanted no part of... although it might not of been too bad - I have hit a series of about 6-8 cones at about 80-90mph coming out of a turn (running wide) during a race. Thought it was gonna suck bad, but felt like little bumps in the road. Felt sorry for anyone behind me

Nice videos!

I must have heard, felt, or instinct told me I was being stalked and didn't run over the gator to give him room to pass. I think I ran over the gator 99.9% of my laps and may have still done it then, but gave him a little room to still pass. Hell, he may have passsed me in the grass for all I know! I wish I was fearless, but definitely agee experience has taught me not to do crazy stuff. It hurts when you screw up!

As for zip tying the GoPro, I thought about not doing it, but got to thinking "what if" it fell off and I couldn't get it back or broke it. Even if it didn't fall off, I'd probably worry the entire time on track. Simple fix to just tie the damn thing down and faggettaboutit.

Holly crap that was a sweet pass. It's great that the track is so humbling. It's
nice to not be told that you are slow but rather shown by blowing your doors off.

Wicked awesome videos. Ever make it out to west coast tracks?
