Thumbs up 2011 BMW 1000RR Frame: Brand New...

Through a funny set of circumstances, I have a brand new 2011 BMW 1000RR factory frame, (approx 30+ lbs) no stamped serial number, (that's the way BMW ships to the US).

See link for pictures: and OEM parts list with MSRP of 2983.36 $ (ninth item on list, first file).

This would be ideal for someone looking to replace a frame for track use only.

If for street use, you have to check with your state's DMV laws regarding VIN#.

I have many more brand new parts for sale...

Asking 1850$, Paypal, Bank Check only, you pay shipping.

I will bubble wrap, carefully package , and ship overnight, 2 day, etc... depending on your need.

Serious inquires only please... PM for details...

Thanks...

Rhody...

P.S. I live in the US, Rhode Island, so plan accordingly if you need the frame in a short time frame.
How cool would it be if it ended up on a bike in the 2011 IOMTT, I plan to visit and attend in 2012 with
my 2011 BMW 1000RR.

Seems like a few of the forum are interested, at least enough to give a look. If any of you are considering but standoffish, I can provide the RI Cycle Dealer (in business over 50 years) contact number to substantiate this frame was ordered by them and in fact delivered by BMW with a blank serial #. It is early in the season as well, I am sure with track days approaching this late spring, summer, that someone will be needing a new frame.

I would have used the new frame, but RI DOT says it must be stamped with their VIN# designating the bike as a KIT Bike. It is NOT a kit bike, customized yes, but it uses the OEM,. engine/frame/swingarm and not much else. I will be posting the final incarnation of it soon in my One Of... a work in progress thread.

I bought a contour HD camera, and will post a video of all OEM parts for sale , all brand new as well as a set of stock Metzeler Tires, I already switched them for a set of Michelin Pilot Pure's. Have fun riding this spring, but until we get a good drenching rain watch for the sand , it is still all over here in RI.

Wolie,

Let's just prove you wrong, just for fun then... eh...

Let's make someone's track day more enjoyable at an affordable price..

New Frame price... 1400 $ US dollars with you still responsible for shipping, any takers ?

That's at more than a 50% discount, and a fair deal. PM's only please...

Rhody....

I may be interested. I dropped my bike 2 weeks ago and my local BMW dealership is taking a look at my bike next Tuesday to see if I did any damage to my frame. Will be in touch... can you email me your contact info to alex@alexstojkovic.com.

Thanks.

I'm tempted to buy the thing just to hang from the ceiling in my office. These things are works of art.

Mark,

Before I got to look at one up close, naked, I didn't think it was anything special, I couldn't have been more incorrect. Of all the parts everyone who is racing the bike, the one thing no one seems to mess with is this frame. Combination of extruded and welded parts, the hollow intake in the steering head portion is awesome. Pretty light too considering the forces it must deal with from the motor. It's weak point is the loop in the front section where the frame slider attaches to. Mine had a slight crack in it from a low speed high side, I had the original frame welded, sanded, painted, by then the insurance company had a new frame sent from Germany, and they wouldn't take it back, so I got to keep it, amazing. The downside is that BMW does not stamp the frames with the original VIN #. I kept and repaired the original frame, and have this one to use (I hope I don't have to, no one likes to crash) or to sell, which is the current plan.

So now you know the history... Anyone interested in buying it now ?

Mark,

How about a You Tube video instead, Contour HD 1080P camera, here...

Rhody...

I tried a shade version (wasn't happy with it) before bright afternoon light, hopefully you can see every inch of the frame top and bottom. You are right the thing is a work of art for sure. All the lettering (inside the frame) didn't come out but as I was taking it it looked like it would for sure.

A number of serious potential buyers wanted the frame, however the shipping cost, almost 500$ (to Europe) is keeping it from selling. This offer only applies to European customers, I will sell the frame for 1100$ + 500$ international shipping. I have been told if you have a relative in the US armed forces, who is willing to ship it there for you, you can do it for considerably less. Something to keep in mind.

Rhody...

Remember a new frame shipped from the BMW factory is almost 3000$.
