What was your opinion of the Pinlock visors? Worth it? Are you able to put the insert somewhere if you get caught out after dark?

The Pinlock visor had absolutely no fogging. Bomb proof. The inserts are small enough that you could put one under the seat with no problem.

To clarify... I am talking about having a smoke insert and a clear insert. You need the visor with pins and then the insert snaps into the pins. They are easily interchanged.
I purchased the new Shoei X-Twelve and they don't currently have a Pinloc available, so I am struggling!

So if you have the Pinlock visor and no insert, you'd just basically going with a clear visor, correct? Then if you wanted to put a dark smoke in, you could just carry the one and put it in if you like, correct?

Correct. The Pinloc visor just has the pins to hold the inserts in place. For instance, you could ride during a warm day with no insert, but then it gets cold in the evening and you put in place the clear Pinloc insert and no fog!

There's some version of this that fits the Arai Cosrair V and I was wondering if it was worth looking into... that will likely be my next helmet.

You won't regret using the Pinloc.

I'm looking into the Pinloc visor too and I'm a little confused with the visors. Shoei makes a Pinloc visor, but it only comes in clear with the Pinloc inserts having the tints. Doesn't that look a little weird from the outside?
