Default Sport/Tour Version

Figured I'd post up a picture of the sport/touring version of my bike. The GIVI rack will come off in three minutes or less, and although it's not considered appropriate on an SKRR by many, it handled a 50# load just fine for 2200 miles in five days running around the Deals Gap/Asheville area. There were minimal negative effects to the handling, although I'll admit I could only stay ahead of a local hot shoe on a GXR1000 for less than a mile at the Gap.

All in all I find the SKRR setup this way much more comfortable than my CBR!!XX, and a whole lot more fun otherwise.

That's one hell of a setup man. Bet you'll be happy to get all of that stuff off the bike.

Lemme ask you though, how did the handle bar position work for ya? I'm just curious if it was comfortable with the angle that you riding at.

Hey I got bags for my bike too. The easy on easy off of the bags are very convenient and to have the extra space not straped to your back is priceless. No flames here.

Handlebar is much more comfortable as the bike now uses a Renthal "Fatbar" setup mounted to a new billet top triple clamp. The worst part of the setup is the fact that I can't throw my leg over top of the GIVI bag getting on/off, so one must step thru the gap to mount/dismount. Once on the bike it all pretty much disappears from thought and is much more balanced than it appears. Although the added weight is mounted quite high, it is at least centered almost directly above the rear axle rather than behind it.
