Had one hit me in the face a month or so ago. Had my shield up coming out of a corner; tagged me right in the shield opening, was covered with bird **** and feathers, had my oakleys on so no eye injury.

WTF....Bird was flying real low or you had the front wheel up and high off the ground. I guess the bike won....again.

Was it a pigeon? Those damn birds have a death wish. They wait until the absolute last second before they move their ass out of the way. I've bounced a few of my car windshield . I've had numerous close calls n the bike with them flying in front of me.

It was either a pigeon or a young seagull that was scavenging in the bins, been hit on the head by a seagull before!

I had a close call with a turkey not to long ago while on the highway. I spotted him on the right side of the road from quite a distance so naturally I slowed some. Just as I figured, he lolligagged crossing and decided to take flight moments before I was on him. I hate animals sometimes!

I swear these kamikaze animals are performing in Animal Olympics which are few times a year.

Either im on the bike or in my car, 6/10 times that i see an animal (deer, squirrel, goose, duck, etc..) up ahead of the road, they see me, wait till last minute and jump right in front or on to me.

Its as if they are being judged on their performance/technique by hidden judge animals.

Glad you are ok. The bird got the raw end of that deal!

I had a close call with a Turkey Vulture on my ZX-6R a few years back. It flew directly at me with it's talons exposed. Til this day I don't know why it did that...but seeing a bird with a 6ft wing span come directly at you changes your life. I went home and didn't ride for two weeks.
