Default My s1000rr

I've had her since March ... one of the first to hit the showrooms in Melbourne Australia ... but i've only now got her ready for the track and taking her out on her first date at Phillip Island Friday!! Still only 1000km on the clock (600miles) ... did the run in along the the Great Ocean Road ... it was wet, but soo much fun. The bike is stupid overkill for our Speed Camera covered Victorian roads ... but sooo much fun

A few pics of her just after first service ... and ready for the track.

Mods:
- Leo Vince Exhaust
- CRG levers
- R&G Bar end sliders
- R&G Fork protectors
- GBRacing Engine Cover Set
- Woodcraft Sliders (short version)
- TechSpec SnakeSkin Tank Grips
- Gilles Chain adjuster with Crash Pads and Lifters
- Gilles Titanium wheel axle nut
- SharkSkinz Upper and Tail
- Catalyst Racing Lowers (because they work with stock exhaust too)
- Alpha Racing tank fairing
- Alpha Racing light plugs
- MRA screen
- Complement of DZUS
- Lava Mat Heat Shield
- ilmberger frame covers

No rearsets yet ... happy with the stock ones so far, i would like aftermarket that fold/bend in a crash and not snap at the frame? ...

Hoping the suspension holds up ok on the track too ... otherwise that's next on the list.

Also no Power Commander (because it'll void warranty here apparently)

Cheers

Looks good. I like the black satin finish of the upper fairing.

Awesome. No rear sets? The Gilles axle nut...is it easier to safety wire than OEM?

What a nice ride you have put together ... like the black and white ... Collingwood supporter perhaps???

Looks great. I like the color combo. Pretty stealth looking.

Thanks for the comments! ( No ... not a collingwood supporter, geelong actually, but that would have looked gay )

randomwalker .... Not sure about the safety wire on the Gilles axle nut (haven't had to do it), but it does have an "interlocking security system", so it ain't gonna come off any time soon ... though that doesn't help with regulations that specify specifically a safety wire I assume.

01BMW ... yeah, i got done twice losing one month each ... once on reefton spur, and once coming out of Omeo ... what sucks most is how hard it is to get good cheap bike insurance afterwards! argh

Took her to Phillip Island yesterday ... was bloody awesome!! I'm only in the Med-Slow group currently, and left it in Sport for the day to get use to the bike. I've never felt so confident going through Lukey Heights ... brakes are unbelievable ... suspension felt suprisingly good (but what would i know yet!! I set the sag using the universal method, and the recommended race settings for everything else from the owners manual ... I weigh 110Kg with gear) ... this is with comparison to the Triumph Speed Triple I owned previously and tracked Phillip island as well.

Yes, it can pull anything back on the straight ... but i only used it to get past riders that were slowing me down in the corners ... if they were quicker, i'd catch them but leave them in front ... just courtesy I think, as i remember getting held back in corners on the Speed, and not having the oomph to get past on the straights ... sure is fun though.

Spent most sessions working on my movement on the bike ... I'm definetly getting Rearsets now!!!!!! The stock ones are dangerous when they fold up on you!! Looking forward to Superbike school Level 2 next week

Just did my 2nd oil change at 2554 km (~1600 miles) after doing 4 track days, and 2 superbike schools at Phillip Island (1500km/900miles worth).

All looking good

Never had a missed shift, and i always use the quickshifter. I also downchange with the clutch.

The bike is a Feb 2010 build. Cheers!
