Default Vintage Moto Museum (PICS)

Here in Denver there is a vintage motorcycle museum. It's a private collection of around 200 bikes ranging from 1933 - 2008, and it's all hidden away in a basement. You'd never think twice to walk by and not give the building another look. For those of you that want to visit go to Welcome to Vintage Motos. I definitely encourage those of you that are local to have a look. The owner of the bikes is a character that couldn't be more willing to spend time chatting with you.

While I know virtually nothing about bikes of such a vintage...as a motorcycle enthusiast it is of course very interesting. From a technology standpoint its hard to believe both how far advanced some of the designs were, and just how impressive the tech we have in today's bikes.

I've uploaded about half the pics I took to my flickr gallery.

I took quite a lot of detail pics...here they are.

The swingarm also doubles as the exhaust pipe. The engine is mounted to the swingarm/exhaust and thus pivots with the swingarm. Both the front and rear use single sided swing arms.

Wow.... Thank you for posting these pictures. Absolutely gorgeous. Every time i come across a vintage bike i think of my friends dad in the UK! He was riding a Vincent Black Shadow before he got married, got a side car when he did & traded the Vincent in for a shoe box sized rust bucket of a car when the ball & chain got pregnant!

Beautiful pictures BTW..

Thanks for the feedback Sal.

I was actually suprised not to see a black shadow there. It was quite the collection. Sometimes I think some old weird project bike is exactly what I need to keep me busy during the winter.
