Default My Dealer's Demo in Today

My sales guy sent this picture today to his pre-order guys.
Looks sweet on a great day in Seattle. El Nino is giving us balmy weather. Damn, low 46 high 53 and just a few showers for the next few days. I rode the K-bike to work today.

Darn it,... I knew I should have stopped by the dealer on the way home.

Enjoy.

I disliked that color until I saw it in person. I ordered that color 2 days later.

Default More Demo Bike Pics - 1 of 2

I went back to my dealer on Friday to see a production model for the first time.
I really like the finish on these. It is much nicer than the pre-prod models seen in the past. I could fall in love with the MS version, but I will keep the faith the green one will be sweet too. I want black wheels and a polished swing arm like this one, so the green will do.

I had about a half hour by myself to look it over closely, not a crowded show, so I got down on the ground, looked under and over the bike a bit, and took a few closeup pictures that I hope some of you might find different. The only problem I had with these pictures is the bike was in the sun through a set of windows on one side, and under flouresents on the other. I had to work with my Adobe Elements real hard to get the blue color even close to what the camera was showing me. Weird.

Here is a closeup of part of the right side - mostly fairing.

Here is the front wheel from the right side. Love the gold Brembos and forks.

Here is the rear wheel from the right side. The OEM wheels look nice and the welding on the end of the swingarms is well formed. No blobs. Very smooth. This bike had the Metz K3 tires on it. Hope mine does also.

Here is an interesting look at the radiator and oil cooler. I'm thinking these may need to be protected while out on the road.

More in the next post.

Default More Demo Bike Pics - 2 of 2

Here is a picture of the front. I am so glad the windscreens on the production bike are crystal clear. How many of your that saw the pre-prod bikes this last year thought BMW was purposefully making screens with cateracts? They must have seen a lot of sand on the road and tracks. I almost ordered a tinted screen just to keep from having that aweful look.

Here is a closeup of the front lights. I kind of like it now. It's different for sure. This is where the lighting really fricked thing up for the camera.

Here is a closeup of the tail. I think a tail tidy is in order. Not bad, but this plastic plate holder and turn signals jut way out there.

So the dealer staff that came by asked if I wanted a picture of myself on the bike, so I eventually let them take a couple pictures of my ugly old mug as well. Do I look happy? I bought myself an RR cap a couple of weeks ago and can't pry it off my head yet.

Great pics Rainman... Love that color. Haven't seen it in person yet, but will soon. Agree on the Tidy Tail... I think Mark (Mrgrn) is going to give a go at making a CF Tidy Tail/Fender Eliminator. Can't wait to get the bike.

For the extra cash they want for the Motorsports color, they should have did a pearl white. That would have looked fantastic. I'm just not a fan of the plain white.

Love it or hate it, nobody is going to mistake that green for any other brand.

The green is defenitely going to stand out... no doubt. W/any of the colors, I don't think you're gonna mistake it w/the taillight and headlight design... I thought about the green, but figured I might get tired of it in a couple years... so wanted to go w/something w/more than one color. Red/White/Blue is a little patriotic too (for me).
